But seriously, new saps...Currently available!

Owing to the popularity of key chain saps I've made in the past, I've made some larger pocket-sized sap with the D-ring configuration.  I'll include a split ring as well for use as a hefty keychain, but it can easily be removed or replaced with a lanyard if you prefer.  As one customer pointed out, they're a bit large to have dangling from your car ignition, but they're a great size for pocket carry, or just to have hanging by the door at home.  Here they are!

Large Keychain Sap #1: SOLD

Weighing 9.25 oz. and measuring 7 inches, this is made with factory dyed, waxed oxblood leather. Hand stitched and riveted with a large D-ring, includes a split ring.

Weighing just shy of 9 oz. and measuring 7 inches, made with factory dyed waxed oxblood leather. Hand stitched and riveted with a small D-ring. (Split ring included, not pictured.)

Weighing 8 oz. and measuring 6.5 inches, made from factory dyed tan leather, hand stitched.  The D-ring is attached with a rivet screw.  (Split ring included, not pictured.)

Special Announcement: New Sap Design!

I am happy to announce a new phase in my production of custom saps.  In the interest of promoting a healthy lifestyle, as well as reducing my carbon footprint, I will be producing my saps with vegan, animal friendly materials.  This will not only help reduce the detrimental impact of cattle farming, but provide my customers with an exciting new line of unique saps!

Whereas my previous saps were made from hand-stitched leather and filled with lead shot, a dangerous and toxic substance, my new saps will be made entirely from organic, non-animal based  materials!  This is a vast improvement over my previous, cruel and potentially dangerous saps. It has been brought to my attention that my previous saps could impart bodily harm if used in an offensive manner.  To better protect my customers, my new Earth-friendly saps will be stuffed with your choice of organic soybeans, rice, or recycled tissues.  The tissues are an especially thoughtful option if you find yourself or fellow citizen becoming emotionally distraught whilst overcoming a difference of opinion.

We all know that violence never solves anything.  Just think of the gratitude your assailant will feel when you offer them a means of expressing their emotions.  Home invasion? Why, just  offer up some of these delicious organic soybeans, and say hello to your new friend!  Who can resist soy?

My new saps will be available in a variety of colors, and range in weight from 0.0008 oz.  all the way to 3 oz.  ( A special letter of recommendation from your local sheriff will be required to purchase the 3 oz. sap, as it might be used to harrass or annoy someone if used with malice.)

1.  Small Antiqued Black Sap: $45

 The body is 6.5", the strap is 6", and the total weight is 8.5.  Medium weight leather, packed solid with lead shot. I finished this in USMC black, then buffed the highlights to give it a slightly worn finish, but it's brand new.  A nice retro style sap.

2.  Tooled Sap With Steel Shank: $45

Two layers of leather, tooled on one side, with a tool steel shank.  Length is 8.5", weight is 9 oz. This sap has no flexibility, and would make a nice desk accessory.

3.  Black Widow Sap: $45

Similar to the Heart Sap above, this one is just 6.5" with a riveted strap.  Finished in glossy black with red stitching, it weighs just over 7 oz.  Don't let the size fool you, it's not pleasant to get hit with...unless you're into that sort of thing.

New Year, New Saps, New Everything!

Hey Y'all!

Thanks to everyone who ordered leather work from me over the holiday season.  You've helped me turn something that started as a labor of love into a semi-professional endeavor.  I've gotten a lot of encouraging feedback, and it's greatly appreciated.

I will still produce one-of-a-kind  projects as time allows. However, I've also taken note of what designs have proven the most popular based on customers' requests.  To that end, I'm going to produce a stock of those designs to have on hand, to make the purchasing process easier.  I'm also exploring options for a more professional website, and I will keep you posted as that develops.

New designs, new direction...

Recently, I saw a sudden increase in inquiries about my saps. More people have been viewing the blog and asking about custom orders.  After looking at the stats, I realized that credit was due to Sean Sorrentino, who was kind enough to give me a glowing review on his gun blog.  If you're a gun person, check out his blog here. If you're not a gun person, it's still worth checking out.  Sean has a good sense of humor, and he researches the laws surrounding guns and use of force with the tenacity of a Honey Badger.

The photo above is of a Boston Leathers "Junior" sap, as well as a clone that I worked up for Sean.  It was tricky, as it took more layers and hardware than I usually use, but the end result came out pretty solid.  If I can streamline the process, I'll be doing more of this style in the future, but in the meantime, I'm focusing on the basic 8" design that I get the most requests for, as shown here:

New Saps On The Way...

Hey all, been busy working up some new designs, and filling custom orders.  I'm trying out different weights of leather and different loads.  Check back soon for some new photos, as well as a few departures from the saps.

I still have a few of the Valentine's Day themed saps left.  VD is only a day way, but it's never too late to say, "Honey, I'm sorry I totally blew off the most romantic holiday of the year, here's something to wallop me upside the head with for being such a typical male."

Of course, once we get past all this cupid nonsense, we can start getting ready for the most important holiday of year. I've got some great St. Patrick's themed stuff in the works, and I welcome your ideas as well.  Please contact me if you have a custom project in mind! Valentine's Day Specials!

A fan of my saps recently pointed out that "Nothing says I love you like the gift of confidence that comes with having half a  pound of lead shot encased in leather in your hand."  Being as I'm a hopeless romantic at heart, I decided to celebrate this Valentine's day with some seasonal saps. Antique Finish Black Sap

This sap is dyed in  USMC Black, and burnished to produce an antique appearance. Has nice brown highlights that show in the right light, really old-school look. Despite it's appearance, this sap is brand new, and made to the same standards as all my saps, carefully hand stitched and polished.  Will take a black or clear polish and age nicely.  Packed with lead shot, it weighs in just over 8 oz., with a 6.5 inch body and 6 inch strap.
